“I am a winegrower in the South of France in Languedoc, halfway between Béziers and Montpellier in the commune of Montagnac. Originally from the area, I am strongly impregnated with this earth, soft earth with the rain, hard earth with cracks of withdrawals during the summer.
In this soil trodden by my ancestors, I planted the classic grape varieties of Languedoc and brought up to date those forgotten.”
We do not inherit the land from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children”, it is on this quote attributed to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry that a new page opens at the Domaine de Campaucels.
After Cathy's installation in 1997, 25 years later, Clément, her nephew, in turn became a young farmer by becoming co-manager on January 25th. Thus begins a story of four-handed winegrowers, the time necessary for Cathy to transmit all her experience, then gradually Clément will remain alone, to perpetuate the domain. The 9th generation thus perpetuates the history of Campaucels.
At the Domaine de Camp Aucels life goes on by writing the epic of wine but not only, it is also that of ordinary people attached to a plot of land, to a field of birds
Here, what takes precedence outside the sun and the sweetness of life, cicadas and wood pigeons, is above all to do well with little. He gives nature the right to speak, to observe and reflect, to maintain and preserve biodiversity to produce the most natural wines. In total harmony with this nature, I combine from its fruits a diversified range of wines of terroirs in IGP Oc white red and rosé, in AOP Languedoc, Grès de Montpellier and Picpoul de Pinet"
