Rhum Damoiseau is the flagship rum of Guadeloupe, the only distillery in Grande-Terre, known for its production of agricultural rum, but also for its range of arrears and liqueurs. In 1942, Roger Damoiseau senior, decided to buy the Bellevue estate, which had been abandoned until then, but at the cost of heavy debt. The company therefore resumed a sugar activity by making sweets and jams, thereafter, rum quickly became the main activity of production.
In 1968, Roger Damoiseau fils took over from his father and continued to develop the family business to the point where he was able to repay the company's debt through the sale of bulk rum.
His sons then began to work with him and helped him to make the distillery prosper.
It was in 1995 that Roger gave his place to Hervé Damoiseau who became president, his brother Jean-Luc taking care of production. Since 1978, Jean-Luc has become a master distiller and Sandrine Damoiseau, their sister, organizes the promotion of the brand through events.
